Lucy’s a singer in this, not a professional one, yet, maybe. But she gets asked to perform in bars and stuff, she’s pretty good, actually.

Summary
Ever since Lucy's mother had run away when Lucy was ten, her life became hell. Her father turned to alcohol and drugs to cope with Mrs. Van Pelt's disappearance and turned abusive towards Lucy, all because she looked like her mother. To her brothers, he remains the perfect father.
Fast forward a few years, Lucy is in high school and is sick and tired of her stupid life. She keeps telling herself that she'll make it through, that she just had to wait a few more years and she'll be able to cut ties and go to college. However, as her father's behavior increasingly worsens, and her friends seem to hate her more and more each day she's not sure how much longer she can go on. And one day, she does blow up. The aftershocks of her crash-out and her crappy mental health led her to deciding she has to get out. She has to escape. Not only for her mental health, but maybe even for her survival. -

After things went downhill between him and Lucy, Schroeder is forced to come to terms with and reflects on his now-strained relationship with Lucy as a result of his actions and faces the consequences it brings, where one of them is when Lucy gets treated for lymphoma after surviving a radiation attack while on a trip with her aunt Marion and her uncle. Will Schroeder fix everything back to where it was? Or will he let things stay the same as it was? (Told in Schroeder’s POV)
Loosely based on the Schrucy fanfic “Mislead Stars” by morelikelys and the fancomic on TikTok by aaaa/@aashmeowmeow.

Schroeder rolls his eyes. "I don't care if I spend countless hours trying to teach you how to play one single scale." He tells her firmly. "I'm doing this because I want to. Your parents don't have to pay me to teach you something that I already love to do."
Of course, the dark-haired girl would, undoubtedly, be a difficult student. She was wilful, headstrong, and stubborn. But she was also sweet, charming, and determined.
