Summary
The war for Elibe had ended. Zephiel had won, completely and utterly. The other nations of Elibe were crushed, never to rise up again against him or stand in the way of his dream. But unknown to Zephiel, Idunn wants no part in ruling the world she helped burn.
A foolhardy plan and desperate attempt lead to a cosmic fluke, and Idunn finds herself freed from Zephiel, free to try and atone for the sins she believes herself guilty of.
In other words... A story that follows the idea of 'what if Zephiel had won?' Someone goes back in time to fix things, but it's not Roy. No, this is about Idunn getting the chance to shine as a protagonist.

Summary
The winter after Nergal's defeat, Nino's uncle Canas and his wife Ivy perish in an avalanche in the mountains of Ilia. Unable to stay with Canas's mother without sacrificing her own mental wellbeing and unable to leave Hugh there alone in good conscience, Nino takes Hugh and moves south-- as far as she can go, until she stops feeling phantoms crawling up her back.
The journey is a long one, and it takes them through Ilia, into Sacae and Bern, and over to Lycia, providing many familiar faces along the way, and a few hard lessons. But even when the walking is done and they settle down, the journey isn't over. Guardianship-- motherhood-- isn't something that ever just ends, and intentionally or not, it's what Nino has walked into.
This is a story about family-- about growing up alone, finding a new family and having it pulled away, taking what's left of it into one's own hands, and learning to make peace with the loneliness one started out with. It all comes back to the beginning like the turning of the seasons and the rolling of a wheel, a cycle of growth and healing. It's tough, but at least Nino isn't alone.

This is a Fire Emblem fanfiction set in Elibe, the world of FE6 (Binding Blade) and FE7 (Blazing Blade). Staying true to the original fiction laid out by the games themselves, this fanfic tries to fill in some of the gaps between FE6 and its prequel. Some characters who had major roles in FE7 were nowhere to be seen in FE6. What were they up to? How did Zephiel go from being an innocent heir to the throne to a vicious antagonist?
These questions and more are answered in a series of vignettes that move forward and backward through time--think like the memory fragments in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Maybe some of these gaps will be filled in officially in Fire Emblem Echoes: Scars of the Scouring. But until then...
