This is a vastly different Sci-fi sequel to the HP series than the other such magic/sci-fi blends that I've recommended (such as D.S.S. Requirement), but I like this story all the more for its unique premise. The decision to leave Earth is born from desperation, not scientific curiosity, and it's fascinating to see the impact that this desperation has on each character's development — especially as said development is not always for the good. As a lover of Biblical history, I was especially interested in how Harry's relationship here with the fickle wizarding populace often mirrors that of Moses with the "stiff-necked" people he led out of Egypt. Harry is determined to save the wizarding world, even if he has to drag them kicking and screaming the whole way. I love that unique, yet perfectly logical setup.
