Summary
Hyperion refuses to admit Hythlodaeus and Hades are closer than they are.
He's not worthy of Hythlodaeus' attention as far as Hyperion's concerned; what with his absolutely abhorrent lack of social skills, patience, and a number of other things they could come up with if given the opportunity to list. Hythlodaeus can do better.
Much better.

You, the Traveler, acknowledge the danger is over, but this is anything but a victory. There have been defeats that have felt more triumphant than this. No, this… This is the wake of a nightmare without the relief of blinking it away.

Summary
It was all by chance, really, that he ended up in a class with two of the brightest souls he had ever seen. The first that stood out was orange and resonated like loud upbeat orchestral sounds, blinding like the sun if he looked too closely, difficult to perceive and impossible to resist. The other was purple and inviting and dark and dangerous, a solo flute playing in a minor key, luring him in like a shipwreck, or a deep well, or a graveyard. Just as he was drawn to these two supernovas, Hythlodaeus found to his surprise that they were equally drawn to him.
Or, 5 times that people told Hythlodaeus he was the best, and 1 time he said it himself.

The Warrior of Light, sunny Viera lad born into the Garlean takeover of Dalmasca, needs something from his new, old friends before his time on Elpis is finished. Closure, answers, maybe succor? He is not entirely sure. Luckily for him, for those that recognize the light of that soul it is impossible not to seek it out and answer it's call.
"How do we love thee? Let us count the ways..."

“Could you please state for the record your name and position?”
The white haired woman grit her teeth ever so briefly, her hands folded tightly together as she leveled her gaze. “Venat, current Azem of the Convocation of Fourteen.”
“And can you confirm for the record your reason for your visit today?”
“To be evaluated for legitimacy so I may return to the Star.”

“Pardon me, Hyth, it has two what now?”
Hythlodaeus lowered the paper he had been reading from and glanced up. “Two claspers for reproduction,” he reiterated. Then, with a sly smile, “To wit, two penises.”
(For once, a shark concept inspires Hythlodaeus.)

Summary
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, as the Final Days loomed ever closer, a group of scientists called the Convocation of the Fourteen began development of Project Hydaelyn, with its sole intended purpose being to bring salvation to the dying world. Alas, the subject of this project, codenamed Azem, was not completed in time, and was left to slumber for eons as the rest of the world was plunged into chaos. They would have slumbered for countless eons more were it not for the efforts of the Scion Organization attempting to reawaken the fruits of the long-lost Project Hydaelyn.
This is Azem’s story.
