When Legend wakes, the world doesn't quite make sense, and the back of head throbs something fierce. His eyes flicker open to a hazy blur and the light, that though dim, make his head spin. Something warm and damp trickles down the back of his neck, which Legend distantly comes to realize is blood. “Shit,” he mumbles, finding his hands straining against something smooth, cold and tightly secured when he attempts to test the severity of the injury.

Time’s alert stature loosens. “What happened, Twilight?”
“I—” Twilight stops himself, the words caught in his throat. Time squints his good eye in the dark to catch sight of Twilight sitting up from his bedroll. The fire had long since been extinguished. Time would have revived it if had it not been such a warm night.
Time gives a small smile, trusting Twilight to be able to see him with his considerably better night vision. “What is it? You can tell me.”
Hesitation hangs in the air between them until Twilight speaks, sounding very small for such a strong man. “I had a nightmare.”

Ignoring the- frankly horrifying- curse, Link released his hilt and stepped forward, holding out a calming hand. “Hey, I’m friendly if you are,” he assured him, not sure what to do. The kid looked absolutely spooked. Link barely resisted the urge to look down at his own body, verifying that he wasn’t some horrifying form of undead."
Time narrates his first meeting with Twilight, but as we all know, it's not Twilight's first time meeting him.

Time wakes up in the middle of the night. That's not unusual, he does so every night to check on his boys, what is unusual is seeing Warriors staring into the fire with blood on his hands and tears fighting with rage in his eyes.
Heroes don't have an easy life, and all of them start too young. What they really need sometimes is a dad to just hold them through the hardship and listen as they scream their pains to the world.

And then they meet Impa. They get some answers. As much of answers as she can give at least.
This Hyrule is just so much worse than they thought. And they didn't even get the time to properly process it all.
