Link had experienced many strange things during the War Across the Ages. This portal-based travel thing wasn't exactly new to him. Neither was meeting more Links, heroes sharing the same spirit across eras.

Warriors groaned, feeling something shake his arm. It started off as slight, as though gentle caresses to his sleeve, though it soon shifted to much more purposeful rocks, jostling the man in hopes to shake him out of the trance that was his sleep.
“Hey, Wars. Wars, wake up. Hey-” He heard ever so distantly, as though a call from beneath the water’s surface, or when he would hear something from afar, dismissing it as his mind playing such games on him.

“Look down at the fence,” he instructs. Warriors does as told. “What is that small thing that looks like a drowned remlit but is not?”
His knowledge of remlits is only minimal, but the description allows him to figure out what has enraptured him so. Sitting in between the fence posts, looking as woeful as Wild when there are no climbable trees, is a small dog. A few months old, maybe a year if he’s pushing it. It has a pointed face to match its sharp ears. The dusted coat of fur resting on stark ribs is a mix of brown and white. A shiver runs through it, despite the blessedly warm sunny day the Goddess had sent them.
Honestly, if he did not know any better he would have said it was a rat. But he’s seen city rats. They are uglier.
“That’s a puppy,” Warriors says flatly.

The last sound goes straight into Warriors’ head and vibrates there, tinging and ringing, till Warriors groans and shifts, trying to cover his ears with his hands. Instead, something yanks at his wrists and pulls them short with a heavy, head-pounding clank.
Warriors stills. The noises are different, but that feeling rocks through him like unsteady footing: A familiar gut-punch, just before the knife to the back.
Or, Warriors, Four, and Hyrule get captured by the Yiga Clan and have to figure out how to escape.

When a portal transports our heroes to the era of Echoes of Wisdom, the Chain gains a new Link! Everyone is keen to welcome Rift to the fold, especially Wild, who takes on the role of the new kid’s mentor. But as he settles in, Rift begins to realize that his adventure wasn’t quite like everyone else's: compared to the others, he barely did anything! Zelda was the hero of his tale, not Link. This realization leaves Rift feeling woefully inadequate, his self-esteem crumbling until it reaches a breaking point. “Tune,” Link gasps. His voice comes out quiet, his throat torn up and nose clogged from crying, so he coughs, then tries again. “Tune!”
“Y’all heard that, right?” the first voice asks. “Hey—Wind! Time!”
Link doesn’t know why the person is yelling about the wind and time, and he doesn’t care. Instead, he focuses on the cracking of branches underfoot and the rustling of leaves being brushed aside.

“I am not leaving him in there alone,” he continues, starting to loosen the clasp over his shoulder keeping his scarf in place. “He needs us-”
Just then, there’s an audible disturbance in the water. Warriors whips his head around in time to catch a splotch of dazzling pink amidst a cloud of bubbles in the otherwise dark lake, and then a lizalfos genuinely comes flying out of the water. He stares dumbly as it crashes into the deck between him and Twilight, screeching and squirming in pain and fury, with brutal looking claw marks around its face and throat. What the fuck?
When a portal drops the Chain in the middle of a huge lizalfos camp, sprawling halfway across an unknown lake, everyone expects the worst when Legend ends up getting dragged under. They quickly find out just how well he can hold is own in the water, though, and add a new fact to their ever-growing list of Legend's magical abilities.
Or, the Links learn about the mermaid suit, and they're more interested in marveling at the unique transformation than judging Legend for it, much to his surprise. Legend tosses a lizalfos, Warriors makes a fool of himself, and everyone has a good time.
