“Listen Sunny, I thought it was about time we started fresh. That incident with your friend was very unfortunate… but here you can forget about all that!”
Sunny brought another piece of meat to his mouth. He wouldn’t look at Mom’s eyes.
She sighed. But her cheerful tone didn’t disappear.
“Since we’re starting anew and all, I thought about it and decided to enroll you in the local school.”

Sunny never saves Basil that night. The next morning he moves far away from his childhood town. Away from his grieving friends, away from Basil, and away from the Truth.

I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do with this story yet, but I feel like this is a good start. Basically, Kel created his own whitespace after being the first to find Basil's dead body. After 2 years following the end of the original game, Kel has become what Sunny used to be, the weight of both Mari and Basil's deaths weighing down on him with each passing day. One day, when Hero is visiting, Kel is surprised to see a familiar face after his brother drags him out of the house. It's gonna take some work, but maybe this is how Kel could make up for lost time with someone he still loved, and maybe reach some sort of inner peace with himself again.
