Summary
Gurathin is aware of how exhausting it is being a person. Here's to hoping less code, a praise kink a mile wide, and physical pleasure do the trick.

Summary
I guess the self-loathing delayed my client protection instincts by a quarter second or so (yeah, definitely no problems with making your security device able to get so mad at itself that it forgets to do its job) because I didn't manage to instinctively tackle Three before it tackled me.
Then the roof caved in.

Summary
Murderbot returns to Preservation Station for a visit with its humans. It's expecting to have a nice, relaxing time watching media and catching up. It doesn't expect to be living opposite Gurathin of all people. It doesn't want to spend more time with that asshole. It knows exactly where their situationship stands and absolutely nothing needs to change. Unless...

Summary
Amena had… talked to the grey people. And some corporates too. That wasn't nothing, she supposed. She'd kept calm despite the threats and the implants and the infection and the electrocution. She'd seen SecUnit put its hand through—
It was like she was there and it was happening again. Then she was back in the bunkroom and blinking hard, her heart hammering. She gasped in one big breath and then held it, knowing that if she didn't then the next one and the next one would both be noisy and out of control. But she held it and kept a grip on herself until she could release the air, slowly, and inhale normally.
Mostly normally.
As everybody prepares to go home from the Worst Survey Ever, Amena struggles to feel normal again. As long as she focuses on making sure Three is okay, though, she can manage. Sort of.

Summary
As a murderbot I'm used to dealing with problems that can be solved by hacking or fighting. Other problems, I'm not so good with. So when PSUMNT decided not to renew my employment contract, that was— I didn't want to think about it. I just didn't want to leave. So when ART first proposed that it just hide me somewhere aboard it, I jumped in without thinking. That might have been a mistake.

Summary
On a distant planet, a team of scientists is conducting surface tests, shadowed by their Company-supplied SecUnit that has hacked its own governor module. Among the equipment failures and attempts on their lives, there is one man who knows suspiciously too much about what is going on. SecUnit has to do what it has to do - protect its clients.
With GrayCris finally fallen apart for good (hopefully), the researches of PreservationAux and Pansystem University of Mihara and New Tideland conduct on-site research into the alien remnants that GrayCris was so interested in. Murderbot hates this planet, the one on which its humans all almost died before becoming its humans in the first place. But this might be fine, there are only Hostile megafauna and- Nevermind, Gurathin has just lost his memory and has no idea who or what Murderbot is. Just great.

Summary
"It's wrong to think of a construct as half bot, half human. It makes it sound like the halves are discrete, like the bot half should want to obey orders and do its job and the human half should want to protect itself and get the hell out of here. As opposed to the reality, which was that I was one whole confused entity, with no idea what I wanted to do."
Six months into its new life aboard the Perihelion, Murderbot has settled into a comfortably aloof routine with its mutual administrative assistant, ART. Then a new crew member arrives and a survey mission goes catastrophically wrong, uncovering a corporate conspiracy that hits closer to home than anyone expected. As events spiral out of control, a harrowing mystery, the indifferent cruelty of the Corporation Rim and (ugh) its own inconvenient emotions all conspire to force Murderbot to reevaluate what it really wants from the universe and what it means to live in a world of bots and humans when you're neither.

Amena has only just started laying out her tools, trying not to show how anxious she is. Iris is pacing back and forth, not even trying to hide her nervousness. The two feed messages, one sent privately to each of them, arrive within milliseconds of each other:
Perihelion → Iris: What are you two up to? And why aren't you using the medbay?SecUnit → Amena: What are you doing? It looks unsafe! Stop!Or, Amena and Iris try needleplay for the first time.

Summary
One of Mensah's children wants to read aloud to SecUnit from a chapter book. What's the worst that could happen? (It gets so spooked by a stupid old piece of children's media hitting too close to home that it has to run off and have an emotional collapse about it, that's the worst that could happen.)

Summary
This was supposed to be a simple extraction mission- and for once, it actually turned out to be. We were only a couple dozen yards from ARTs shuttle and my threat assessment was calming down because it wasn't likely we were going to run into any more hostiles. I was actually pretty relieved.
And then suddenly there was a hole in my abdomen.

Summary
The Pansystem University of Mihara and New Tideland offer one of their docks as a repair station for damaged spacecraft. The price is strategically calculated to be cheap enough that they might lure in corporate ships with intel, while not being so low as to raise suspicions.
At present there are two badly damaged ships in the facility. Both have highly advanced bot-pilots, more on par with Perihelion itself than the typical ship's mind. "The Shadow's Child" and "Demeter". Perihelion communicates with them, and learns some of the hardships they have faced. -

Summary
After a high-stress mission, Murderbot ends up having to take drastic measures to bring down its excessively high cortisol levels. While hesitant at first, it finds that the more extreme methods bear little resemblance to their human counterparts and are a useful tool for routine hormonal maintenance.
And then ART finds out.
