I have been sitting on this little chapter story for quite some time, plugging away at it, and I thought the novel pairing was the perfect time to finally start posting! Jacke speaks in heavy thieves' cant in this, and Riol has subtle phrases here and there. I adore the idea of this pairing, and yes, this one is written as a reader insert.

Who was to know that as they're chasing Granson's revenge, chasing both of their escapes, that they would start to feel something for each other? The Warrior of Light has freed all of Ardbert's companions, save one, by the point that a Virtue Hunter stops some sorry sod from hitting on her. Please mind the tag warnings! The majority of this is based around the Shadowbringers Role Quests, but it will dip into Endwalker towards the end! There are also more than a few minor NPC's throughout, not listed because honestly they aren't focus and I wouldn't want to fill up the tags.

So, I uh. This concept came from my WoL officially matching Ardbert (despite the fact that the 45 glam is red). Thought it would be cute for Ardbert to react to the WoL taking his jesting advice that they should learn how to swing an axe, and it evolved into a cute confession/fade to black. This is in AU where they're on the Source now, both of them, and WoL has been pining him since the First. Second Person POV is in the unnamed Reader!WoL's POV, so it's somewhat unclear mutual pining, but this is a fluff with the smallest sprinkles of angst.

This is based off of the idea that the WoL actually does end up making Brithael a hammer to replace his old one (as he mentioned in one of the SB quests). Thought making the level 90 one would be nice, because, uh. With how long he's been a BSM, you would hope he's somewhere around there. Anyhow! Very fluffy, gift and confessions.
