And then Roger looks down, and time slows.
It’s painful, really. The way Mark takes a second too long to pull his hands away from Roger’s skin to cover his own, wrapping his arms around his chest. He’s trying to shield himself, all whilst a sweaty Roger looms over him, hot and ragged, his mouth ajar and eyes flicking from Mark’s eyes to his chest, or rather the scrawny arms that now cover him.
It’s too late. He already saw.
Mark wants to scream.

They’d been arguing in circles for what felt like the tenth time this week. It went like this: Roger would get all depressed about who-knows-what and mope around the apartment. Mark, confused, would try to fix it. Roger would get angry at Mark, even though he knew full well that Mark loved fixing things.
Needed to fix things.
“Why?” Mark asked hesitantly. “You never told me why. You just said it wasn’t working. Is that- is that true?” Roger used to be in love with Mimi. Mark couldn’t understand why Roger was so damn depressed if he didn’t even want her back.
“Well, it wasn’t.” Roger said, staring off with that faraway look, like he was still all the way in Santa Fe. “She wasn’t- you know Mimi. She's incredible. But she realized my eyes kept catching on- that I kept looking at-” his mouth looked as if it was trying to form the words but simply couldn’t. “I wasn’t trying to,” He said weakly.
“Who?” Mark asked quickly, hands twisting in his lap.
“Men.” Roger muttered.
The silence was static.
