So, this is an AU fic where Carla and Lisa are Betsy's parents, not Lisa and Becky. Although Becky does appear in this story, she and Lisa have never been married. In this story, Becky is Lisa's ex-girlfriend. Lisa has a G!P, and both Lisa and Carla are biologically Betsy's parents. This story follows the everyday life of the Connor-Swain’s and Carla and Lisa’s relationship after twenty-three year’s, and a eleven year marriage - the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Some parts follow the show, while some don’t. Betsy is 16 turning 17 in this, and Ryan is younger than in the show in this, he is 25, Ryan lives with Carla and Lisa, he is also more like a son to them, Carla is 50, and Lisa is 49.

The same Becky who was the reason Lisa was up to her eyeballs in debt, having forged Lisa's signature and borrowed significant amounts of money against the house before her death. In desperation, Lisa advertises the spare room to rent out, a last ditch attempt to avoid what seemed inevitable.

Summary
When Becky returned from the dead Carla knew it wasn’t going to be an easy ride. She was determined to fight for her relationship with Lisa. But after months of fighting, tension, and holding on for dear life it all became too much for Carla and Lisa, and they mutually decided to split.
Carla moved to Ireland – left everything behind to start fresh, apart from the factory - she did as much as she could remotely while Sarah did more of the in-person management. Lisa moved away to Brighton after the house sold, transferring to Sussex police.
Carla kept in touch with Betsy – never mentioning Lisa or Becky.
5 years later a sudden attack at Underworld takes place and requires Carla to come back to Weatherfield.
How will she react when she comes face to face with ex Lisa who unbeknown to Carla has been back in Weatherfield for the past year. -

Carla’s heart sinks in her chest. It’s not just a metaphorical feeling, she actually feels it happening, feels the weight of Lisa’s words pushing down deep within her. So she does the only thing she can think of in that moment so as not to completely give the game away; she takes a long sip of her drink, eyes darting around the room, looking for anything to focus on beside Lisa.
