Summary
Glimpses of Fuu and Mugen (and sometimes Jin) sharing a cup of tea as their relationship develops over time in the modern era. Fuu is growing up as the privileged daughter of the hard-working, Kasumi Seizo, an officer working in the Japanese Organized Crime division. Mugen is taken in by the Kasumi family as a ward after one of Seizo's undercover missions.
This will be a prequel to an upcoming fic which will involve Fuu and her assigned bodyguards, Mugen, and Jin teaming up to find Kasumi Seizo, who was recently promoted to Commissioner General of the National Police Agency.

Jin is still unaccounted for, while old friends and new enemies wedge their way between Mugen and Fuu's deepening relationship. It's not going to be easy.

The sun hung low over the rolling hills of Japan, casting long shadows across the dusty road. The air was thick with the faint scent of wildflowers and the subtle tang of sweat from a day’s hard travel. Fuu, Mugen, and Jin trudged along, their footsteps kicking up small clouds of dirt that caught the golden light of the sunset. The trio was—as usual and to no surprise—broke, hungry, and bickering.
“Man, that merchant was a cheapskate!” Mugen growled, his arms crossed behind his head as he swaggered forward. His wild hair bobbed with every step, his red haori fluttering in the breeze. “We save his sorry old hide from those bandits, and what do we get? Some lousy fruit? I could’ve taken his whole cart if I wanted.”

Summary
Fuu is empty. Fuu is gone, and all that's left is a hollow shell. Because her journey ended, she and Mugen shared a night of passion, and then the world swallowed her whole and spit out only jagged pieces. Months in a brothel will do that to a girl. So will the hollow space of her stomach where there once was a curve that Fuu held and whispered to.
A tea house by the sea is where Mugen finds Fuu, months too late. And despite her best efforts, he stays. Because she might not be the sunflower girl that he left, but she's still his Fuu. And he's going to figure out what the hell is wrong with her, before she throws herself off the cliff she's been eyeing...

Nearly a year passed since the trio parted ways near Ikitsuki Island. But even as their lives relapsed to how they used to be, their memories of that fateful journey never faded. A chance reunion in Yokosuka "forces" Mugen and Fuu to travel together once more, this time on an all new journey to find a certain bespectacled samurai. Throughout their many misadventures, the good, the bad, the joys and the sorrows, something is slowly but surely changing between the former waitress and pirate. Or maybe it was there all along...
Episodic stories filled with both familiar and unfamiliar faces, as Mugen and Fuu travel across Japan and change people's lives and maybe change and grow a little themselves. Perhaps navigating Japan is the easy part. Navigating the delicate nature of their relationship...may just be another story.
A heavily rewritten story first posted ten years ago on Fanfiction.net. Happy 18th anniversary of Samurai Champloo.

When Syaoran, Kurogane, Fai, Lunamaria, Lunaanne and Mokona got to Fei-Wang Reed's domain, they were surprised to see the clone Syaoran there. Syaoran was going to confront his clone but suddenly Fei-Wang appears behind the clone and he summons his soldiers. Fai, Kurogane, Lunamaria and Lunaanne began fighting the soldiers while Syaoran fights his clone alone. However, as the clone Syaoran was about to bring the real Syaoran to Fei-Wang, the clone suddenly stabs him and he stabbed him in return for his betrayal. The clone Syaoran dies and Fai and Lunaanne's eyes with their respective magic return to them. Fai used his returned magic to transport them to where Fei-Wang is and Kurogane kills him only to find out that he killed Dr. Kyle instead. However, Fei-Wang had anticipated this, and transported them all into the Infinity Castle and said "You're all going to Hell now!". Everyone including Syaoran's friends who have journeyed with them across different dimensions and those they've met during the tournament fell into the Infinity Castle.
