Summary
Let’s start with the good part.
I accidentally helped Three (who was also helped by Ratthi and Bharadwaj) invent trauma recovery modules for murderbots. ART unhelped at first, but then it helped. I keep saying help too much but I’m not fucking changing it again, it’s been two hours. Anyways.
The bad part is everything else that had to happen first. Sane people shouldn’t get anywhere near a SecUnit’s worst memories, which is what we did so you don’t have to. Though I guess if you need the modules, you do have to. That’s kind of the point.Well, don’t worry about all the atrocities. There’s no way yours can be worse than mine.

Three observes that the humans on board The Perihelion do not touch SecUnits. This does not upset it. Of course not. That would be a strange thing to be upset about.

Summary
You are accustomed to a certain sense of helplessness. It is inevitable, as your designated role is to watch over those you hold within yourself. You can protect your crew from the vast, unforgiving vacuum of the universe outside of your hull, but you cannot protect them from danger that comes from within. You cannot save your SecUnit from itself.

SecUnit 003 is participating, it doesn’t know what else to do.
It doesn’t know what else it is allowed to do.
After all, it's easier to drive a car if you don’t have to build the wheel first, but that doesn’t make it a bump-free experience.

Summary
It's a regular deployment for the Barish-Estranza SecUnit squad. Except that SecUnit 003 has a faulty component that's about to break, SecUnit 002 seems to be gunning for a new record for number of governor module punishments per cycle, and SecUnit 001 gets to learn exactly what that means for both of them and maybe itself.

Summary
Murderbot must infiltrate a company facility to obtain spare parts. Along the way it grapples with the terrifying responsibility of caring - for itself, for Three, and for company-owned constructs who may not be willing or able to accept change.

Summary
It seems like there should be a very neat line, at least for humans, between dead and not dead, but I’ve seen enough messy half-alive humans to know that there is no such clear distinction. I’ve seen bodies that were still breathing despite missing part of their heads, bodies that weren’t breathing despite their owners being fully conscious. I wouldn’t call either option alive. I wouldn’t call either option dead, either.
For a machine intelligence, the border is even blurrier. It's hard to say which side of it I will stand on when they're through with me.

A series of fics following SecUnit003 from immediately after Network Effect through into post-canon Situations(tm). Each instalment involves Three either learning something important about itself as a person or making its life harder by writing overly-complicated programs for itself to follow.

Summary
"You're a space wizard, Murderbot. You'll hate it. It'll be great." - The Force, probably
If Murderbot ever proves the Force is sentient, it will plot to murder the shit out of the Force.
So maybe I should’ve noticed I had bullshit magic powers sooner, but in my defense I didn’t think magic was real. Most sane people would insist magic isn’t real.
Wait, whoops, the ghosts would claim it’s not magic. It’s “the Force” (in case you’re wondering, yes, you can hear the capitalization), and I’m a “Force-sensitive” which means I’m able to manipulate the mysterious, supernatural (but definitely not magical) force that a bunch of old dead monks decided to name the Force. (Not that I’m making fun of their naming sense. It’s apt even if it must’ve gotten confusing sometimes.)

It's been about 1500 hours into Three’s freedom and MB and ART are doing a fantastic job of being sensitive to its acclimation. OK, maybe "sensitive" is the wrong word, but ART takes a while to warm up to new constructs.
