Sirius had just been mopping the deck one second and then in the water the next, screaming that he ‘couldn’t swim.’ Lily had almost let him drown for that. Who the hell asks to join a pirate crew without knowing how to swim? Sirius Black apparently.
When her crew had finally been able to pull him back in, he was shaking so hard she could feel the deck vibrating beneath her. The crew deemed him ‘Padfoot’ after that, for the way he had doggy-paddled with all his might towards the liferaft they threw to him. It didn’t take him long after that to find his sea legs, but no one would let the memory go, no matter how good he got.

This work aims to massively expand the canon as it is given in the books, as well as slightly tweaking any canon facts/implications. It is, in essence, a complete re-write of the books, starting with the 2 months leading up to Book 1.

When he learns about an arrest list for the entire Order of the Phoenix, he makes an unthinkable choice to stop Umbridge and Fudge: He will give in to their claims of his insanity. He will give them a reason to fear him. (By sheer coincidence, the Austrian ministry happens to have a maximum sentence of 50 years for its prisoners.)
