Emma grew up in a progressive family without notions of prejudice and nothing but respect for diversity. However, her world changes as she finds herself stuck in Edgewater to finish her last year of high school as her mother takes on a job abroad.
Alyssa Greene's world is shaken when she comes into terms with her sexuality when she meets the newcomer at her school. No one has ever understood her the way that this enigmatic stranger had.
Kevin, Greg, and Nick are the most popular jocks in James Madison High School and it only made sense that they were with the most popular girls, Shelby, Alyssa, and Kaylee respectively. Nick and Kaylee had always been together since they could all remember. Kevin likes Shelby and Shelby likes him back but how come they are not dating yet? Also, Greg and Alyssa had always been an item but nothing has been said or done. Emma comes in trying not to mess with the entire dynamics until she notices someone and someone notices her.

This is the stupidest thing that Emma Nolan has ever done. Then again, Emma never really fancied herself as smart. Stupid or not, this is probably going to be the most embarrassing thing she'll ever do. She sighs as she slowly made her way further into the hallway where the person she's looking for is residing. Running a hand through her blonde locks, she dares a look at her cousin who was hiding a few lockers behind her, he gave her a dopey smile and held two of his thumbs, encouraging her.
Emma just flipped him off, thinking if ever she gets through this alive she'll definitely kill Greg.
"I need help looking for something!"
"Oh! Sure, I can definitely help." Alyssa replied, a bit shocked at the girl's outbursts. She recovered and quickly surveyed their surroundings, as if whatever Emma was searching was lying somewhere there. The blonde smiles at that, Alyssa was always so eager to help. "What are you looking for exactly?"
She convinced herself, just barely, to go on. On one hand, she can just blame this on Greg and pass it off as a joke but on the other hand, this is definitely the worst pick-up line ever accompanied by the worst skit ever.

Emma grew up her whole life in Sinnoh hearing about the story of the Legends, and for a long time, that was all she thought they were- legends. Children's fairytales and excuses for scientists to have a reason for all of their existence. But after several gut-wrenching nightmares that seem to predict some kind of catastrophic future, she's starting to think that maybe there's some truth in those old stories after all. There's truth in her dreams too, that much is proven to her, and she isn't quite sure if she, her trusty Herdier, her loving girlfriend, and her ragtag group of friends are quite ready to save the world just yet, but Emma quickly realizes that none of them have much of a choice.
