Sure, he knows he's not the only person testing for Ratio and Screwllum. He also knows most of the work is being done by the Trailblazer, dragging projections of their friends along with them. So color him surprised when he gets a request to save Sunday of all people from one of the higher threshold levels.
He hasn't seen Sunday since he joined the Express, nor since that fateful day in his office. It's absolutely that he's been avoiding the man— better for his recovery or something. Aventurine has yet to visit the train, considers the window for having done that closed no matter how often Ratio tells him to come with. He figures if it's meant to be, he'll eventually cross paths with the Astral Express again.
But the universe is cruel, so of course the first “Express Member” he manages to see again is the very one he's been avoiding.Sunday and Aventurine get along with a little help from his new powers.

In fact, Dan Heng realises, the number of people in Starksiff Haven is startling low for being the main street in the entire flagship.
Something big must’ve happened recently. Something that had disrupted the lives of everyone on the Luofu. But what?
Dan Heng almost doesn’t want to know. The immortals on the Xianzhou are near notorious for their nonchalant attitudes towards most tragedies; too numb from all they’ve seen in their long lives that the . For all of them to be affected like this emotionally, then a disaster on an unprecedented scale must’ve occurred.

Taking off his shades to make sure he was seeing things correctly, the object didn’t disappear, a bright glow coming off of it signifying that the unusual thing was a Curio, “That’s pretty disgusting.”
About to shrug it off, the Curio disintegrated from his grip just a few moments after picking it up. Before he could process it, a similar transparent screen to the one Stelle managed appeared right in front of him, making Aventurine jump back.
[ERROR CODE CURIO OBTAINED: A Leviathan’s Gift - Arousal and Voracity: Aquisitor is afflicted with status effect Insatiable Hunger. Status effect is incurable unless this Curio is destroyed by meeting certain requirements.]

There are many lessons to be learned from experiencing the Simulated Universe on Herta Space Station, to not touch suspicious Curios was one lesson Aventurine learned a little bit too late. A seasoned professor, Ratio steps in to educate him, not only in a few more lessons, but also in the realization that maybe he could allow himself to be vulnerable within another's hold.
