Summary
(An ASOUE/ HDM AU) The final instalment in the trilogy of misery that is the chronicles of the lives of the Baudelaire orphans and their associates begins with a terrifying journey down a mountain path, and ends with a slightly less terrifying journey into uncharted waters. In the meantime, though, a great number of challenges lie ahead, including earth-shattering revelations, daring espionage efforts and a devastating death or two.
The Baudelaires are not alone this time, though- many unexpected allies and associates will emerge, and however temporary their involvement may be, each will bring a little light to this dismal tale, even if it is only a brief glimmer.
In the dark, though, something is growing- waxing and waning and putting everyone in danger. But with allies and enemies alike more concerned with resolving ancient disputes, will it be possible to keep this foul fungus at bay? Or is everything destined to go up in flames? The end is approaching, but can the Baudelaires make it that far? What will they learn- and sacrifice- along the way?
