Daniel laughs at that. A little too loudly. “What is this? Louis still hasn’t managed to fill the Lestat-shaped hole in your heart, and I’m the first white boy in seventy years who wants you, is that it?”
“So you want me.” Armand takes a sip of his sazerac. There’s a look on his face that Daniel’s only seen two other places: in the mirror the third time he did bath salts, and in the eyes of a stray dog he saw on the side of an overpass in Idaho, gnawing through the bones of roadkill that had already been scavenged beyond recognition. He wouldn’t be surprised if the roadkill was wearing the look, too.
[An argument with Louis leaves Armand alone and desperate on the streets of Dubai. Luckily, he knows there's an old man monsterfucker at the hotel bar a few blocks away.]

Before the sun rises the two of them lay in bed. Louis sprawled out, Armand curled at the foot of the bed, the loyal creature. It makes him feel small. A kept thing. Cared for, soft silk beneath his cheek. For centuries he was a taken thing. Battered, prodded, paraded. Then he was thrust into power. Just a boy, really. Ancient, yes. Powerful. But all that power had been used for was to be a breakable toy. A gift to be powdered, perfumed, and then bloodied. One who could stitch itself back for the next guest.

Louis tucked one finger underneath that silk scarf, right next to where he could feel Armand's faint, slow pulse in the large vein of his neck. A front-row seat to the catch of Armand's breath in his throat.
"I think I wanna go home now," Louis said, letting only a hint of a smile into his slow, deliberate tone. "What do you think?"
When Armand said "yes, maitre," it was breathless, and so surprisingly earnest it stole Louis' breath in turn.

(This scene takes place during S2 Ep 3 "No Pain". I wanted to explore the beginnings of Louis and Armand's crazy Dom/Sub dynamic, before it gets very intense and weird. Louis in Ep 5 drove me insane with the "does he wanna lick my boots?" line, so I decided to write this!
