Summary
The character of Rashid may have been a minor miscalculation, on his part. Armand did not know much about the real Rashid, did not care to find out before taking on the role. Surely he of all people could play the servant in the background, watching for and smoothing over discord. He hadn't been thinking of which buried parts of him had first learned those lessons. Had certainly not been thinking of the shock it was to see Amadeo's brown human eyes sitting again in his inhuman face.

Amadeo, Amadeo, Amadeo. He would have to tell Allesandra, maybe even have to send word to Rome. This was untenable. Amadeo. Something was digging awful fingers into his ribs, tearing about in his guts. He could not abide it or allow it to continue. Amadeo. Amadeo. It stank horribly of love.

Summary
My entry for the Republic of Two Systems Independence Day Exchange 2018!
My person was vass! They asked for a few things, but one of them was "Something about Anaander" and some suggestions with Naskaaia or possibly Anaander's memoirs. I sort of folded this into a weird tragedy telling of Anaander's teenage years and the events that led to Anaander's reign.
It's sad! And Sphene's here too!
