It turned out “normal life” didn't exist anymore. Neither the Chemist, nor anyone on Alpha could be helped – the world they were familiar with was falling apart, with no possibility to prevent it, and so were their minds. The Counselor had no need to look out from the window to guess what horrors within the people's psyches had been unleashed. If she had the time to close her eyes and relax for a moment, she would had been able to see them, as clear as she saw the swollen face of the Chemist before her: floods of people spilling out on the streets, flowing in a chaotic, unstable rhyme, each and every face twisted into a grotesque mask of terror, thousands of bulging eyes searching frantically for a sign of rescue, primal panic shutting their brains off. But she didn't have such an opportunity.

Summary
I was always intrigued by the story of Forever of the Stars (in here referred to as ∞ in keeping with the Forever names in "01011001"), but we never got the full story. "Out of the White Hole" and "Forever of the Stars" makes it sound like he is no longer on Planet Y and stands apart from his race in some way, but his story is never elaborated on in "01011001". At this point, it looks likely that we'll never know more.
This is my attempt at filling in some of those blanks. What lead to his estrangement from the other Forever? And what is his future after the Human Equation experiment?
I play loose with some of the details laid out in the Ayreon storyline. This is my story, inspired by the wondrous words and music of Ayreon, but I will make edits where I feel appropriate. This disclaimer may be unnecessary since this is fanfiction, but this is my first piece of fanfiction in over twenty years, so hey, just being upfront.

A team of Marine Biologists are sent to study and area of water for science reasons where they find and capture a Forever, which was not what they expected to find when they arrived. Forever Tobi meets our marine biologist Andre, who seeks to learn more about this race of Forever. Only, Andre didn't want to get the other biologists involved, knowing it could potentially hurt Tobi. They are both sent off to a facility of labs to learn more about what Tobi is. Andre wants to get Tobi out before the government gets too involved.
