Lisa Finch, a historian working at the British museum has no idea what she's in for.
Being the avatar of Thoth, the Egyptian god of knowledge, is a bit more laid back than being the avatar of say... Khonshu. Lisa has a stable job, a nice apartment, a couple friends, and only has to use Thoth's power as a last resort. Nothing can disrupt her life until one bad morning leads her to meet an interesting man with a tattoo of scales. When everything starts to go wrong, she goes to find the man who started it all, and gets swept into an epic adventure that she did not sign up for.
