Summary
Since arriving at Awa’atlu, Tuk has enjoyed learning as much as she can about the Metkayina’s way of life.
From learning how to hold her breath to discovering how to collect shells from the ocean floor to catching her very first fish using a net – it has all been so much fun! Her favorite thing to learn so far was how to ride an ilu. The sleek water creatures are so cute and so sweet, and she loves being able to glide through the water on their backs.
Magical, beautiful, and amazing.
Tuk is sitting in front of Tsireya – the cool breeze coming off the ocean pulling at her sea grass top – as the older girl works on her hair.
They’re sitting on one of the long walkways that juts out of the village into the water. From their vantage point, they can watch as Tuk’s three older siblings learn how to spear fish with Ao’nung, Rotxo, and a few other Metkayina teenagers.
Or: Tuk and Tsireya spend some quality time together and Tsireya teaches the young girl some Metkayina traditions.

Summary
The Sully family is forced to flee the forest when a team of Recom Avatars tracks them down. Quaritch doesn't give up on his dream of revenge and is ready to do anything to achieve it, even to manipulate his own son. The Sully arrives in Awa'atlu and learns the way of water. It is difficult for Neteyam, and it sure would be easier if the Chief's son didn't have a personal vendetta against him. Unbeknownst to him that Ao'nung's bullying is his only (and clumsy) way to attract his attention.

Summary
Fortunately, the shot Neteyam sustained did not rip through his chest. With the help of the Metkayina tsakarem, he survives the near-fatal shot to his leg. Throughout the healing process, and as Jake and Neytiri figure out what the Sullys' next move will be, the Omaticaya family continue living in Awa'atlu as the Tulkun Trials of the Metkayina iknimaya approach.
Being the former golden boy, Neteyam struggles with the alienation his incapacitated leg brings but, at the same time, it brings him closer to Tsireya, who is nothing but accommodating. Meanwhile, Lo'ak is thrust into the spotlight being the first Omaticaya tulkun rider and to have a bond with Payakan, no less. Over the years, he dreamed of stepping out of Neteyam's shadow but finds the attention and the sudden flip of roles to be overwhelming. And it doesn't help that his crush has seemingly just started to see him too...

The young, eight-year-old boy, stood in the doorframe of his parents’ room. Neytiri was holding onto her husband’s limp body, and Neteyam was just staring. Eyes wider than they should be. The tension sorta gave him a minor headache. He has seen enough movies to know something wasn’t right…
This cannot be normal. Why wasn’t daddy waking up? As much as he was smart, he was still a child. He didn’t understand the concept of death yet. But he knew enough to know that this was not right.
He practically ran down the hallway, getting to the house phone. It seemed like an emergency to him… so he called 911. Nobody knows how he made it through that phone call… but the operator stayed on the phone with him until paramedics arrived at their home.

Neteyam wakes up alone on an unfamiliar beach, pink sand warm beneath him, the vibrant blue water swirling and glowing as it washes up on the shore. At first, he is confused. Then, he realizes he isn't alone. Just a short way down the beach, a human boy stands with wide eyes.
He isn't wearing an exopack.
With so many questions he want's to ask, Neteyam moves to stand, but the boy runs off in the opposite direction. Neteyam gave chase, easily catching up with the much shorter human.
Who knew that chasing after the boy would lead to a life he never could have imagined? Who knew that he would be given a second chance?
