As expected of Anya—undercutting her reputation as the girl who punched the Desmond heir by being the Berlint General Hospital and the Red Circus Bus heroine.
The Red Circus. He doesn’t like to think about the Red Circus incident because then he thinks about where he’d been while it happened and what could have happened because he wasn’t there to stop it and what he would have done if—
He doesn’t like to think about it.
When he was first assigned to Operation Strix, he had considered the various characteristics he’d need the child he chose for the mission to have. Intelligent, obedient, and quiet to name a few. But heroism had never been on the list. In fact, it had never crossed his mind that a child that young could be a hero. He certainly wasn’t a hero at that age. He’d been quick to cry, slow to start, and, outside of make-believe, more of a follower than a leader. Not at all brave, and certainly not a hero.
But Anya, with two gutsy saves under her belt, was proving to be nothing like he’d been at all.
Anya frowns, looking genuinely hurt. “I’m not a tattletale, Papa.”
She smiles at him and he’s struck—because this tiny, precious thing is looking at him and wearing an expression he recognizes. A smile that’s half his.
And suddenly he’s overcome with the sense that she belongs to him. Before he’d had nothing and no one to answer to, no one who would miss him if he was to meet an unfortunate end. But now he has her. He’s holding her life in his palms and if he’s to fail, if he’s to die, he’ll break something in her that she’ll probably never be able to fix.
She is his. Truly, now.
She is his daughter and he is her father.

Zelda had requested his assistance, so Link set out to learn what he could to about these strange new threats. Encountering heroes from the past was a surprise, but it gave him hope to have friends by his side.
He did his best to hold onto that hope, but that is harder than it should be when his first impression isn’t all that great.
When all is said and done, Link - Wild - must decide if the Heroes of the Forgotten Past are worth opening up to.

Yor whips around to see a man standing on the small stage in front of the band, squinting into the bright spotlights as he leans into the microphone. He looks exactly like Loid, except slightly more disheveled and unlike his usual polished self. Her heart sinks.
Please don’t let that be Loid, she silently pleads.
“I seem to have lost my wife.”
She buries her head in her hands while mumbling curses.
Yor and Twilight learn the truth about each other. Neither of them expected what unraveled afterwards.

He woke up a 6-year-old in a world 112 years older than him, where the Calamity had already hit and then recently been defeated... by himself? He didn't know what happened, or how, or why. Luckily, he had eight heroes with weird nicknames on his side, there to help him figure out and fix whatever was going on, one age at a time—and gradually heal his childhood wounds in the process.
