Lance picked up his goblet and aggressively clinked it with Keith's, forcing him to spill most of its contents. Keith glared at him, covered in pumpkin juice, but Lance laughed, eyes crinkling, mouth open so wide that Keith could see the pink of his tongue.
He was soaking wet, too. Keith stifled a laugh, a smile tugging at his lips, before quickly turning back to his food with a scowl. He saw Lance shrug out of the corner of his eye.
"You're insufferable," Keith said, words clenched.
"Aw, c'mon. You can take a shower later anyways," Lance replied, taking a napkin and patting Keith dry. -

He moved there with nothing more than his inheritance money from his grandparents and with the bag on his back. Everything seemed to be going great - until he noticed how strange the town acted when he thought he wasn't looking. The fearful glances travellers sent his way when he was amongst friends. The odd howling that emitted deep from within the forest every full moon. The flashes of wolves he would see out of his window late at night when he could have sworn wolves were no more in England. But what confused him the most were his friends and the way that they became so protective of him in less than a month of knowing him.
In a tale of misunderstandings, breaking of trust, soulmates scared of their fates and of a danger lingering in the dark - old and forgotten - Lance is left wondering who he can trust when he has been lied to by the ones that are closest to him. Ok so this is a modernish setting where the galra are a group of werewolves, and the others are just sort of living with that. I guess they're sort of trying to help Keith, who is part of their pack simply because there isn't anyone else so he gets roped into a lot of bad stuff. Lance is a merman/siren mix who can use a humanish form if he wants, and had a BA ability that puts other creatures into a hypnotic state. Theres also low key soulmarks, but they just identify the species so of course there will be angst about that because Keith will know Lance is his soulmate but Lance doesn't know and blah blah (insert cliches here)
Or- Keith is in love with Lance's magic voice and hates the moon.
