Time’s a funny thing. For all of it’s idiosyncrasies there’s always one thing that’s constant—it passes. It always does, sometimes in rushed, lurching pulls and swift crashes, but lately it’s been slow sunlit afternoons in lazy glades outside of the house he shares with Karkat.
Dave’s experience in Earth C has been… unexpected. It’s difficult to adjust from years spent in the game to this. Some things stay the same. Karkat helps him through it. They both lean on each other in unexpected ways. This world is alien for both of them, a cluttered, messy mash-up of Earth, Alternia, and bits of Skaia itself. Such a patchwork amalgamation should be ugly by design.
