Summary
Nestled in the outskirts of the western Louisiana Territory, Tulpar was the perfect place to become lost to lawmen and bounty hunters.
Casting aside his pride Jimmy fled there, begging his lifelong friend to take him in like a stray dog.
He did.
Of course he did……but things had changed, suns having set over the deserts of their old life together.
Jimmy was running from the law with few possessions to his name. Curly had picked up the pretty little title of Sheriff, and had never looked more like temptation.

Curly had been too hasty. Too sure that Jimmy would kiss him back when the tension grew to an all time high one night in his flat.
Tension that turned from warm to ice cold.
A shouting match was born of the attempt at intimacy. The verbal brawl so bad, for the first time in years Curly went weeks without seeing him. Weeks that turned into months of radio silence from Jimmy.
Calls went unanswered, no matter how he begged.
Then, late one evening Jimmy shows up without warning, soaked to the bone and looking far more put out than he has in a long time, Curly doesn’t hesitate to throw his arms around his friend.
Afterall, Curly never stayed upset about these things like Jimmy did.

Curly and Jimmy are no exception to the stresses of finals week, burying exhausted faces in textbooks and cramming studying hours. Their bags are heavier than usual, shoulders aching from the strain of dense books and note taking supplies.
A good late night drive would do the trick of easing the stress. A favorite song they share a love for over the speakers, the top down on Curly’s old convertible, gazes that linger longer than intended when stillness befalls them.
