Summary
In an alternate universe, Oswald, rather than pursuing Isabella, ignores her— allowing Edward to continue seeing her. He opts to instead hope for another, albeit with low hopes. But, when his old friend Jim Gordon stumbles in one night, stressed and in need of a friend, Oswald quickly finds himself entangled with the nefarious officer. It takes a while, but Ed notices, and long story short— he isn’t exactly a fan.

“So,” Sasha interrupted. “Boys, what do you think of our new boss?” She leaned back in her seat and kicked her feet up on Tim’s legs. Tim immediately set to work tying her shoelaces together.
“He’s got a major stick up his ass,” Tim said as he knotted Sasha’s boots together, “but hey, as long as he doesn’t make us do team-building exercises, I’m fine!”
Martin thought many things about the new Head Archivist, but he was reluctant to say any of them aloud. He stared into his tea, transfixed by the memory of Jon’s voice as he scolded Martin over using pencil instead of pen on official documents. The way Jon said his name…

Martin accidentally lets his coworkers know his honest feelings about their new boss.

Martin sat limply against whatever his back had been thrown against, heaving oxygen into his lungs with a fervent desperation as he slowly blinked in his surroundings, head ringing so loud he could barely hear himself think.
His whole body ached and he felt sick as the world spun around him. Turns out, being forcefully shunted into a different reality doesn’t do wonders for the stomach. Crazy.
Or
Jon and Martin are thrown back to S1 after the collapse of the Panopticon, and have to use their past experiences to get everyone out alive as history repeats itself. Another round on the time travel fix-it train fellers B)

Summary
Everything is so dark. For a long moment, he fears he’ll be forced to spend forever in the darkness, imagining all of the ways he could have been better.
But mercifully, and painfully, Oswald is torn away from the darkness and plunged into an entirely different dark.
He’s surrounded by warmth and a familiar softness. He can breathe. He feels his eyes flutter open and he can hardly believe it.
Oswald, though he can still feel the chill of the river in his bones and in his fingers and feet, woke up in bed.
