Summary
[Minor 4.0 spoilers. If you want an accurate characterisation of Zhongli then this is not the place to come LOL]
Wriothesley is probably one of the most normal men he's met in Teyvat.
It only makes sense to Aether to take him somewhere outside of the Fortress. Even a man that spends most of his time in the dark must spend some time in the sun, and he knows where a lot of the good places are now. So he drags him out of work, and Wriothesley spends most of the day (and then some) in a flustered mess.

Mondstadt was under attack from its own protector, Jean was being standoff-ish ever since he returned, a Traveler from the stars has appeared and agreed to help them with their Stormterror problem, and their Archon just happened to be a drunk who frequented his tavern. And worst of all: he hadn’t seen hide nor hair of Kaeya since his return.
And he was strangely upset about it.

"So, what’s wrong?” Aether asks.
Diluc shifts and draws his legs up on the couch, crossing them over each other. “I had to deal with that one merchant from Inazuma today. You know, the one who refuses to close deals with Elzer, but Elzer insists the sales are too good to pass up.”
Aether hums. He remembers the one. Diluc doesn’t generally like to deal with the business side of the winery but some merchants seem to think they’re too important to close contracts with anyone but the owner himself. But Aether also knows that whatever has Diluc so agitated isn’t annoyance.
“And I got my shot yesterday.”
That explains it much better.

In a small room at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor sat a man who was pouring himself over a piece of paper. To the side, was a gold-gilded book, meant to be a gift. All around, there were many pieces of paper with writing, proof of his previous attempts at writing this letter. He smoothed out another piece of paper, dipping his pen into the inkwell before beginning yet again.
Zhongli started with a simple line.
