Summary
In a small room at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor sat a man who was pouring himself over a piece of paper. To the side, was a gold-gilded book, meant to be a gift. All around, there were many pieces of paper with writing, proof of his previous attempts at writing this letter. He smoothed out another piece of paper, dipping his pen into the inkwell before beginning yet again.
Zhongli started with a simple line.

Summary
Aether's eyes found Zhongli's before darting away. "Are you sure you wouldn't rather be spending your birthday with someone else?" Up until now, Zhongli hadn’t even entertained the thought of spending his birthday with anyone else other than Aether.
"I...wanted to spend it with you, Aether."
Zhongli wasn’t the type to change his mind when a decision was made. Tonight made it clear that he absolutely adored the wind-swept traveler.
There was no force in the world that would change his mind about that.

Aether puffed his cheeks, "Hypocrite yaksha. You need some sleep too."
"I told you," Xiao sighed. "Adepti don’t–"
"–need sleep, yeah sure," Aether rolled his eyes, stubbornness finally showing. "Like I'd believe that. Now come here, I promise it won’t be horrible." Xiao huffed, moving to sit next to Aether. He would stay until the traveler fell asleep. Then he would quietly take his leave. At least, that was supposed to be the plan.

A loud thump filled his ears.
He groaned, feeling his elbow throb where it made contact with the floor.
Aether looked up to see four pairs of eyes staring at him.
A furious heat clawed at his face. An embarrassed noise made it's way out of the clutches of his throat.
"And here I thought you were enjoying sleeping next to me," The voice of the amused yaksha did nothing to quell the heat.
"Shut up," Aether mumbled furiously. Xiao was always teasing at the worst moments.

The grin slipped from Kaeya's face when he watched Aether rip his sister's missing person poster right from the signboard.

Ayato was a smart man, far more smarter than what foolish people take him for. It was quite silly, wasn’t it? Anyone with common sense knew his wits, and dared not to cross them.
He truly doesn’t want to believe that Aether was doubting his capabilities at reading people, honestly, it wasn’t plausible. Yes.. It wasn’t his fault he thought he had Ayato fooled with that forced smile, everyone else believed it after all. So no, Aether couldn’t be doubting him… He was just doing what he always did.

Despite his want to never bother anyone- especially on a planet that was not his own, those whom he formed a close bond with still worry over him. It was nice, to be worried about- Aether needed it. Especially since his sister would not be coming home any time soon.
He missed her.
