He's only a part of the McCall Pack until Scott- his best friend or ex best friend in this situation- said he wasn't, he doesn't say it. Scott wants to use him. Scott was going to put Stiles up for auction and sell him to the highest bidder.
Stiles refuses to be sold. Was Scott aware of what would become him if he were sold to any of the several packs wanting a taste of him? No, because Scott doesn't care.
What Scott doesn't know is that Stiles has a past he's never spoken about, a past before Scott, a past not connected to the McCall pack. He was never really part of the McCall pack, he has always belonged to another.
