But in his defense between constant travel and criminal activity seemingly around every corner he had simply thought the letters were normal updates. He had only noticed after a year of no letters from Sakura that Naruto’s letters had been the only letters he had seen in far too long. And now, his latest letter, nothing but a wedding invitation.

Summary
"Fuck!" Katsuki's voice felt raw and sounded pathetic even to his own ears. Burning tears fell from his eyes and it was only then as he stopped, heaving to catch his breath that he realized he was hugging the roses. Limp, crushed and half dead, Katsuki couldn't bring himself to even look at them.
Izuku like daffodils best.
He had once said the yellow ones reminded him of Katsuki's quirk. Katsuki had scoffed and told him that was stupid. It wasn't stupid. It was sweet. It made Katsuki feel something. Now, all he felt was empty.Empty.

But Izuku knew what he would he see if he turned around and opened the door. He'd see Katsuki on his knees, his face in his hands hiding his tears. He feel Katsuki grip his pant legs like he was afraid Izuku would disappear. He'd apologize. He'd promise to do better. He'd promise he would try. Izuku knew that would be what Katsuki would do. He knew because that's what always happened.

"Are you coming, Rey?" Finn appears at her side, clutching a blanket over his bent shoulders. "It's getting cold."
The fire is still warm though. Rey feels its blaze on her face, her chest, her thighs. It's almost - almost - like a caress.
"In a minute," she says hollowly.
Finn nods, touches her elbow.
"Right, of course," she might be imagining it, but she thinks even Finn is blinking away tears as his eyes flit across the flames. "Do you want me to..."
"I think I'd like to be alone for a bit."
He nods again, shrugs off the blanket and slings it across her shoulders. There's a part of her that will never be warm again, but that part isn't flesh and blood but something deeper still, so she is grateful to her friend as she snuggles into the borrowed warmth.
"Thank you."
"Always," he touches her arm again, turns to leave. "Take as long as you need, Rey."
And with that, the woman who once was the Last Jedi turns back to the funeral pyre and remembers... flames.OR

Izuku thinks that they should really stop meeting like this.
