Ghoul leans down to look at the doorknob, swashed in electric red, and the room begins to read like Party was in a rush out the door somewhere. The dye on the counter where they usually abandon the Trans-AM's keys, on the table where Party always tries to balance himself as he tugs on his boots, on the doorknob, smeared like he'd had some trouble opening it with stained hands.
But where would he go? Why would he not have woken Ghoul up?

Summary
The Fabulous Killjoys are fractured; After 3 of the Fabulous 4 are killed saving their girl, Fun Ghoul is left on his own. Ghoul's left with a busted leg, a kid he doesn't know the first thing about raising and a total and absolute lack of hope.
10 years after the explosion that took his team, Ghoul lives in the shadow of the martyrs the zones made his friends into while he tries to take care of a now teenaged Grace who is facing her own problems. She wants him to finally give her a proper Killjoy name and let her run with a team the way he used to, but Ghoul's not ready to let go of the last person he has left in the desert, no matter how much she wants her freedom.
Things only get more complicated with the entrance of Val Velocity and the reappearances of old friends.
