Summary
Xie Lian has suspected for a while now that he might be Hua Cheng's beloved, but he can hardly just go and ask Hua Cheng if that's the case, right?
Instead, he books a cabin by a lake for Christmas, in the hopes that the cosy atmosphere will lead to some romantic confessions and his own happy ending.

The silly Christmas movie is still playing, but Xie Lian can’t hear it, too attuned to the heavy, steady breaths coming from Hua Cheng, the pink that dusts across his cheeks, and that look of sweet adoration mixed with a little terror in his eyes. Really, sometimes Xie Lian thinks that where he once held a heart, only ash remains in its place. Indifferent and aimless, scattering in whichever way. Do what you can, give what you can, but nothing really matters in the end.
