He made to pull his free from the grip, but he was too hasty. Parrot whined and pulled him back unexpectedly with so much force that he flew over him. The next thing he knew, he was on the other side of the bed, with Parrot half on him, his head on Clown's shoulder, one his wings wrapped around his torso in a loose, but strong grip.

“I’m not sure.” Langa’s voice sounds panicked, and it takes all of Reki not to shoot out of bed and start running to his house. “Are you hurt?” Reki’s tone hardens, missing the soft thuds from the edge of his bed. “No, I’m fine, it’s just that – “ Langa cuts himself off, and Reki can almost see him start chewing on his lip.
Reki waits for him to continue, letting him take his time. But that’s when he stares and notices the moving lump under his sheets. His eyes almost bulge out of its sockets once he realizes its not his own limbs.
“You see…”
Reki’s breath hitches as he tenses up completely, grabbing on to the edge of his blanket and counting to three in his head.
One.
Two.
Three.
“Reki, the Yeti on my board is gone.”
