    After Jason’s brutal death at the hands of the Joker, Dick Grayson retires the Nightwing mantle and leaves the superhero life behind.     Given an appointment five nights north, Gawain believes he will be acting as a would-be knight to a forgotten lord and sets upon his path with a heavy heart. Instead, he finds a softer and stranger duty waiting for him.

    Gawain can feel his hand trembling as the lord brings it to his lips. All of it is for a singular reason: that it is so deeply right to be touched in this way by another man. The press of a kiss to the top of his hand causes a satisfaction to wash over him that he did not know was possible before now.

    “A simple start to what I would have you engage with here,” the lord explains, and Gawain does not understand but he nods all the same.
