    Sonic losing control.

    Tails had little fears and strong flames that seemed unfading for his brother, but that particular worry always rode shotgun in his head. Having Sonic, but not his Sonic; an empty dollhouse. He’d never considered a contingency plan for it despite it nagging him.

    But when procrastination bites Tails, he'd never imagine it being between neon lights and syrupy music, stuck in the vastness of space. Nowhere.

    Or: What if in Sonic Colors, Sonic was the one who got mind-controlled?

    Tails’ face lights up, his ears perking as he turns to Sonic with a wide grin. “Really? You mean it?”

    “Yeah, I mean it,” Sonic replies, chuckling at Tails’ enthusiasm. “But don’t think this means I’m gonna turn into a couch potato or anything. I’ll still be around if you guys need me. Just… I guess at a slower pace for a while.”

     

    Or: Sonic and Shadow take a long awaited vacation, and end up learning a lot about themselves and each other.

    Seeing Sonic outnumbered by strong opponents, he was spurred on by a desperate urge to help him, to prove that he could be useful to his brother.

    “Sonic, I’ll help you!” Tails called running towards him, trying to take his place at his hero’s side.

    But before he could even reach him, a resolute “No!” stopped him in his tracks. Sonic even held up his right arm, preventing him from continuing any further.

    “But… That’s five against one! Zavok, Metal, Chaos, and Shadow are all strong opponents to face, even in a one-to-one fight. Having to fight them all at the same time is even harder. Besides, we don’t even know what the fifth guy is capable of!” Tails replied trying his best to convince Sonic to let him help.

    “Exactly, and that’s why I want you to analyze him and give me the deets.” Sonic countered.
