“Mic’ing us up? Did I hear that right?” Hunter questions.
“Someone in PR thought it would be funny to hear the three of you during all of your games,” Coach LeClaire explains, “The idea got out and spread like wildfire.”
“Huh,” Hunter responds.
“It would be funny to hear me,” Ilya corrects, “I am funny. The other two are boring.”
He hears Hollander huff out a laugh and bump shoulders with him as Hunter continues to ask questions. Casually glancing over to the other man, he sees a small smile playing at his lips. His eyes, though, there was a gleam that he hadn’t seen before. He wasn’t certain what it could mean, but it couldn’t be good for Ilya.

Summary
Refusing to let Ilya ruin his career by signing with Ottawa, Shane chooses to really give their relationship a try and moves to Boston to live with Ilya and become a Raider. What follows is enough public scrutiny and backlash from his team that it has him questioning if he made the right decision. Until moments with Ilya and the Raiders show him exactly why he chose correctly.

Hayden’s eyes flickered to Shane as he sat on the bench, chewing on the edge of his mouth guard.
“Don’t fucking look at him,” Ilya insisted as he bent down for the faceoff.
“Excuse me?” Hayden mumbled, eyes darting back to him.
“You heard me,” he retorted, his tone clipped. “He’s not your teammate anymore; he’s mine. If you think Marlow is a problem to your game, wait until you see what I will do to your team if you hurt anyone on mine again.”
Hayden scoffed, dipping his head as he tried to focus on the game. Something about Ilya’s words still rang through his head though, sounding so definitive that he didn’t want to risk seeing what he was actually referring to when he said that.
The puck dropped again, and Ilya stole it before he could comprehend how quickly it happened.

Summary
What if, after they first meet at the 2008 Prospect Cup, Shane Hollander goes back to Russia with the Rozanovs to play hockey with Ilya's team for 3 months on a hockey exchange program? And what if, in preparation for this trip - which Shane knew about for months and Ilya did not - Shane learned enough Russian to get by? Oh and they're attracted to each other but neither one of them made the first move before they're on a plane together, and suddenly they've got to spend 3 months living in the same apartment, in Russia, under the watchful eyes of Ilya's family and a team full of teenage hockey players...

Summary
Shane's collision with Cliff Marlow never happened, and Ilya went through with his original plan of ending things that night.
After the breakup, Shane tried to move on and found himself with someone who mistreated him emotionally and physically.
Even from a distance, Ilya could tell something was wrong with Shane. He worried, but wasn't sure if it was his place to step in and didn't know who or how to ask.
