Summary
In a bid to appease the growing power in the North and dispose of a problematic spy, Redania has made a bold move: deciding to offer a prisoner as tribute to the Warlord. Their hope? That the Warlord will be pleased with this gift—and the thorn in Redania’s side will finally be removed.

They may have tricked him with the idea of hunting a variant of himself, and he may have gotten a little bit too invested at first, if only to understand more, but he snapped out of it soon enough as he realized that there was no end to it. He saw enough and read enough. He knew why Mobius treated him the way he did. They were all the same, he said. A Loki is a Loki. He may have wanted to meet this variant at first, but not at the expense of his own freedom. If he stayed longer, he may never be able to leave.

Summary
Uhtred's reputation as a Warrior and a Lord has grown and reached far and wide. So far and wide, in fact, that most of it is purely made up or widely exaggerated by the time they reach him again. He mostly ignored what he heard and never corrected the stories that reached his ears. He now realizes that maybe he should have, because apparently, offerings are being sent his way from those seeking his protection, as you would a King. And one in particular is staring back at him. They mostly sent things you'd rarely find in the markets in the settlements around them. So, he accepted their offerings and used them to fund their protection. Their silver, after all. This was the first time someone sent a person as an offering. A Saxon. And Uhtred did not know what was expected of him.

When the time comes to pass sentence on Loki after the events in The Avengers, Odin decides to go for the poetic justice angle. For his attempt to enslave humanity, Loki has his magic and powers bound, and is sent back to Midgard and given over to Tony Stark to be his slave.

Darcy Lewis used to think the biggest mystery in her life was the source of the writing on her arm—like most people, she wondered what kind of person could be so compatible with her that the universe thought it was important enough to tell her about.
Of course, then her boss’s very own manic thunder dream god dropped out of the sky, and she figured that probably counted as a much bigger mystery. Honestly, by the time she was staking Jane’s science thingies in the ground and trying not to get killed by dark elves, she had to wonder if meeting her Soulmate would ever even come close to the excitement of the last three years or so.
Besides… how great could it be to meet someone who’d look at her and say this cannot possibly be happening?
Not great, as it turned out. Really, really not great.

Steve is standing in the doorway looking nervous, perhaps rightfully so but neither of them were idiots. Without the suit Tony was no match for one Bucky Barnes and hell, even with the suit that was debatable.
Tony was more than aware of that fact, had been kept awake the last three nights knowing that, and his being exhausted now made him nervous. God even knew what would happen if he fell asleep. FRIDAY was under strict instructions to keep Barnes the hell away from him at all times.

"I am being decommissioned," the soldier said, and for one horrible moment Tony thought he actually seemed relieved. "I understand. I will comply."
(Or; Tony learns the Winter Soldier killed his parents and goes on a search for revenge, but ends up learning how to heal instead)
