Tim takes a deep breath, “It’s the rules.”
“It’s not a rule in this house, you can stim all you want. Did you know that?”
Of course, Tim knew that, but he was a Drake, Drake rules trump Wayne house rules, right? He couldn’t bring the shame of him having autism to the Drake name.
“Tim?” Oh, he’s been silent longer than he should have.
“Ah, sorry.” He looks Bruce in the eye, trying not to flinch at the effort. “I know it’s not a house rule.”
“Then who’s rule is it?”

When the Batfam learns of Tim's time at the Rotenburg Institute for People with Autism via Tim having a meltdown and panic attack, they get together to better support their bother while in and out of uniform.

Ugh, fucking Ivy and her fucking cuddle pollen. And him being a fucking idiot who had to get caught in the crossfire.
The thing is, Jason had never known before that it’d hurt this much, because he'd always had hugs within easy reach before Joker ended his life and Batman moved on. Scowling, Jason violently shoves away that part of him that aches for Bruce to pick him up, and instead does an internet search for “Poison Ivy cuddle pollen effects duration Gotham no physical contact”.
Huh. Apparently there's an app.

Summary
Studies have shown that touch is key to a healthy childhood. It stimulates the pathways for oxytocin, serotonin and dopamine, all important for the ability to build healthy relationships. Touch is important because it can counteract certain stress hormones like cortisol, strengthening the body and especially the immune system. (Tim was a sickly child, is a sickly adult). Touch deprivation in early childhood can lead to lower levels of growth hormones effectively stunting the child. (Janet and Jack Drake had been tall people, Tim is the smallest out of all his siblings)
Tim's parents were not affectionate people and by the time Tim had come into contact with the bats, he’d been well accustomed to his touch starvation, so much so that it had turned into somewhat of a touch aversion. (It was a real kindergarten-mentality; You don’t want to give me something? Well, I didn’t want it anyway)
Too bad Ivy reminds him of what he's missing out on.

Ivy's pollen only needed some kind of human touch, after all. Wrestling Bruce's precious new Robin to the ground was touch.

So when he is out as Red Hood he makes sure to leave an impact. This of course catches the attention of the Bats. But Nightwing wants to know why a Alpha crime lord is dumpster diving for nesting material.

Dick hatches a plan to help Hood settle down, start a pack and leave his villainous ways behind. Jason wants to know how Dick figured out that he was Red Hood so fast?! Knowing his identity could be the only explanation for Dick leaving him all these gifts... right?
