The searing pain pulls a sharp, agonized cry from his lips, his body convulsing at the sensation but unable to move from the crushing weight of Vincent's frame pinning him down.
No matter how much he struggles, he can't escape, the pain and blood loss rooting him to the spot as the man above him stares down at him with wild, feverish eyes. Rody realizes, with a sickening wave of dread, that he won't be going anywhere. Not for a long, long time.
"This was all supposed to be for you."
Or: Vincent decides he doesn't quite want to let Rody die just yet. Not when the prospect of keeping him alive is far more appealing.
