Summary
Will Byers is in California, the year is 2003. He gets a call from Jane Hopper telling him that Karen Wheeler is dead. Michael Wheeler is in Indiana, the year is 2003. He wakes up in a cold sweat, then begins feverishly typing.

Will did his job, he dated the guy, said yes to moving in, put that goddamned necklace on even though it’s sort of ugly, he lives with him, has sex with him, they make dinner together in the kitchen as they listen to Carlton’s music.
They live in a little apartment off the California coast. The walls are a pale blue, the counters are linoleum, and the sun lights up their bedroom. Will wakes up to California sunshine kissing his face, not a cloud in the sky. It’s sunny here, in Cali. Carlton loves it. It’s a fine life, it’s a good life, for fuck’s sake.
He hears the little Jane in his head say, ‘But is it a happy life? Are you happy, Will?’

Will nods and gestures at Mike, “See! This is exactly what I’ve been saying. It’s one of my favorite movies.”
“Mine too!” Mike grins.
Will grins back, and then squints and tilts his head, “Hey, you sat next to me in Mythology this morning, right?”
“I think so? It was pretty early.”
Lucas sighs dramatically, “You’re both crazy.”
Mike notices Lucas has a coffee cup from the campus coffee store, and he internally nods his approval.
Mike and Will make eye contact, and Will winks (which he somehow actually pulls off, the bastard). The two boys then start giggling until they’re both laughing, and Lucas is looking at them in an amused fashion. The three of them chat a little more, and then it’s Mike’s stop.
“This is my stop, but I’ll see you two around!” He tells them.

First chapter spans from before the WSQK hill scene to the end of episode 4. That part is 100% canon-compliant. Since I don't know what happens next, the second part of this fic is all in my head. Basically byler yearnfest episode 4 from Mike's perspective!

Hey guys! Who else was upset about the Stranger Things ending????
Everybody? Good.
(If you liked the finale and are just reading this for shits and giggles that's fine too, the above statement was a hyperbole)For those of you who don't know me, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Theseus_Katsuki, the crazy person who is currently rewriting Lego Ninjago in six different POV's because I got sick and tired of watching a fifteen year long slow-burn that isn't going to happen. I'm quite literally known as the Ninjago Re-Write person.
I have a lot of finale grievances, but here's my biggest: El, Will, and Mike all received their worst fears/worst-case scenarios as their endings (yes, outside of Byler too).
Therefore, with the power invested in me (a half empty energy drink can and an unholy amount of gummy bears), I present to you a complete re-write of the entire Stranger Things Series fueled by nothing but sheer insanity.
