Robby stands there, lost and unable to move as he watches his husband be taken from him.
Langdon walks up to him, hand gently resting on his shoulder as he forces their eyes to meet.
“Go,” it’s all he says.
Robby shakes his head, jaw clenching, deflated. “I can’t, I've got a hospital to run. There’s nothing I can do right now.”
Langdon laughs slightly, shaking his head in disbelief. “Robby, if that man means anything to you, and from what I've just gathered, he means everything, then you need to be there for him. You will be no good to us if your mind isn’t in this, if you’re constantly worrying about him. We can cope without you for one day, and I’m sure Doctor Abbot isn't going to say no to coming in a few hours early for you. Go be with him, even if it’s just waiting up there, he’ll know.”
Robby looks at him, feeling almost hollow. Useless.
~or Dennis gets hit by a car and is left in critical condition but the only on who can snap Robby out of it and get him moving again to save his husband's life is currently laying unconscious in a hospital bed.
or or, Robby is terrified and breaks when his husband hurt and really needs a hug.

Summary
They say doctors make the worst patients. They say 'do as we say, not as we do'. They eat junk food, smoke, work long, stressful hours, and never get enough sleep. It's amazing they don't end up on the gurney instead of standing beside it more often.
The problem, Robby finds, with running a tier 1 level trauma centre is that your own health is often pushed right to the bottom of a very long priority list.

Summary
Ilya doesn't know why he thought that depression was something that hit you like a freight train. It wasn’t logical, he watched the opposite happen with his mother, watched as it slowly stole thh life out of her eyes. As it drained her spirit, slowly, like it was fed off of any happiness she could muster.
Despite all that, he always imagined it as waking up and realizing everything was dark. Like going to bed to a clear sky and waking up to a storm outside.
He was quickly learning just how wrong his imagination was.
