And Izuku had gone rabid, he had downright lost his mind, because he was totally okay with being called names and with being belittled; he had dealt with that sort of thing throughout his entire life. He was okay with that, as long as that gruesome villain kept Kacchan’s name out of his filthy mouth.
Izuku had always been like this, even during childhood. Badmouth Kacchan in front of him? Meet his rage, and quite possibly his fists. Maybe that’s just what love is for him. Standing up for someone.
But Kacchan doesn’t love him. Izuku knows that much now. If he did, he wouldn’t have used Izuku to stand up for himself.
Alternatively: Katsuki is in the closet, but he finds out a homophobe is in his pro-hero fanbase. Because of that, he kisses Izuku in front of the man just to make a statement, not aware that Izuku has feelings for him. A lot of trouble ensues.

Summary
Izuku Midoriya is hit by a truth quirk, he's having a hard time navigating through it and concealing what he doesn't want people to know. Class 1A shenanigans and refusal to answer anything, he owes them no explanation for anything after all. Katsuki would never admit it but he knows just how important Deku not revealing his secrets is and makes an attempt to help. However what he doesn't know is recent discoveries will lead to him having to handle his own thoughts as well.

Oh, great, so that was the ‘bad’ thing Katsuki was waiting on. At least he didn’t have to spend the whole day anxious and in migraine hell. Rip the bandage off, he liked it quick and painful. That might say something about him as a person, but again, no brain cells today.

OR: Class 1-A is exposed to a truth quirk and some mild interrogation to experience what underground hero work and police work can be like, but also to let them experience what a villain might endure. Katsuki tries his best to keep his rather sordid past a secret, but it doesn't go how he planned.
