"How do you feel?" Bruce asks, but Dick can barely hear him, his ears ringing in and out along with the throbbing pulsing over his body. "Dick?"
Dick's mouth, aches as he opens it to speak, drool filling up the space under his tongue. His throat feels--raspy. Dry, even with all the spit gathering, teeth almost throbbing in his gums.
"H-"ungry, he means to say, instead coughing as his tongue catches on the word. And he keeps coughing. And coughing, and coughing-
It takes tasting copper in the back of his throat to realize he's started growling, instead.
There's something lurking in the blood of Gotham. Whether he likes it or not, it slips into Dick's veins.
(It's only fair that a creature of the night can no longer touch the day.)
