Summary
“Our original anniversary, Daniel,” Armand says, kissing him again, “is the fourth of September, nineteen-seventy-three.”
Daniel grabs his hips, stilling him where he’s been gently grinding. “Hang on a sec.”
Armand sits up, a little peeved, his hands on Daniel’s chest, blinking down at him. “What?”
“You consider that to be our anniversary?” Daniel asks, huffing a disbelieving laugh.
“Well, yes. That was the day we met after all. Although technically you could say it was the night before, when I saw you in Polynesian Mary’s and you looked at me like I was something to eat but—”
Daniel presses two fingers to Armand’s lips to halt his rambling. “The night you took over my body and started torturing me? That’s our anniversary?”
Armand sticks his tongue out and licks his fingers. Daniel curses and pulls them away, but out of surprise, as opposed to disgust. Armand knows that Daniel rather enjoys it when he licks him.
“Our original anniversary, yes,” Armand confirms. “Although, we have many.”

Armand chuckles, a melodic sound, and it feeds something deliriously stupid inside Daniel.
“Oh, yes, beloved!” he carries on, notching it up to eleven and not even bothering to mimic Armand’s cut-glass voice and eclectic accent. “We’ll see the northern lights, beloved! We’ll stay as long as you like, beloved! We’ll look at them until you can’t stand them anymo— oh-ho, fuck you!” he says, when he finally gets it, and now Armand is grinning at him, teeth a perfect cut of white in his mouth. “Fuck you. So funny.”
“You wanted to see the northern lights, beloved. I merely obliged. You can still watch them, by the way. Just remember to rest your eyes every now and then. I packed sunglasses.”
Okay, so that’s kinda sweet, but Daniel still has a point here. And he’s going to make it. Eloquently.
“Still a dick.”
or: they go to Svalbard to look at the northern lights.
