"Eddie... I don’t... I can’t—" Buck’s voice cracked, and the panic that rippled through Eddie's chest was immediate, like an electric shock.
Eddie’s breath hitched, eyes locking on Buck. His heart pounded against his ribs. “Buck? What’s wrong?”
Then Eddie saw it—the dark, crimson streaks trailing from the corners of Buck’s eyes, dripping down his cheeks like tears of blood.

An ordinary day at the 118 turns into a nightmare when Buck has a major accident while on duty.
Eddie, his husband and best friend, is left anxiously waiting for news, and as he does, he flashes back to their journey together.
