After the war, Tyrion receives a letter. The offer of a highborn woman to marry, “a beautiful maid and accomplished, and the lady in question is most eager to be wedded to Lord Tyrion, having heard of all Tyrion’s own accomplishments.”
He accepts because he has to. As Lord of Casterly Rock, he must marry, and he’s long since given up his search for Tysha. There are unlikely to be any other offers made to him, and any offer he makes to a lady is likely to be rejected. Not that he expects the lady mentioned in the letter to like him. No matter what the letter claims.
