Mark turned his head to the left from where he was laying to find Helly already looking at him, her hazel eyes bleary and unfocused. Her chest was still rising and falling sharply, for which he couldn't help but feel a warped sense of pride. Her hair was splayed wildly across the dark flooring as a result of his hands running through it repeatedly and the way her body had moved with his.
He could only think of one way of replying.

He startles as the soft alarm sounds under the sheets when he shifts.
“Is that—?”
“A bed alarm,” Olivia says calmly. “You so much as swing your legs off the side of this mattress, half the floor’s gonna hear it. If you even think of getting out of this bed for anything other than to use the bathroom, I will cuff you to it.”
“That could be kind of fun, actually.” His face brightens, a little too excited by the idea, and Olivia laughs for the first time in what feels like forever.
“You’re ridiculous.”
“You started it.” He squeezes her hand.
