Summary

The last thing he remembered was stumbling over a stone concealed in the snowy path, trying desperately to catch himself, but losing control over his own limbs.
Somewhere In his mind, he registered the fact he was now lying on the ground, snowflakes landing gently upon his nose, stinging the dry pale skin. He shouldn’t stay there, it wasn’t safe.
But he was exhausted, and he didn’t care anymore. He just wanted to rest.

"He felt bad for the kid. Last year almost no one noticed how much pain he was in because of the commotion. Steve pretty much disappeared right after Hopper and El came back to the Byers' house. It was the next day that Jim heard about the events involving Billy and how Harrington got smashed over the head with a plate. He felt a bit guilty too, as for not checking on the kid, but he had another child to look after at the time. At least that's what he told himself to feel a bit better. The thought of an injured, concussed teenager coming back to an empty house and marinating in pain and misery got his stomach churning.
So, he decided it was not going to happen again."
