Jongwoo.
Moonjo dreams of him, on the rare nights when he dreams. He dreams of the warmth in Jongwoo’s eyes, of the fire burning, of the heat in his gaze, the burn of his fingertips on Moonjo’s arm, throat, skin, fabric. Moonjo wakes not-quite-sweating and always wanting, craving, something he can’t put his finger on.
Jongwoo is an enigma. Jongwoo is everything Moonjo wants, all he needs, and everything he can never have, nothing he can ever be. Jongwoo is his, wrapped up in a pretty bow and left on his doorstep to mould into perfection.
And oh, what perfection he is. Oh what perfection, when he watches Jongwoo lose control, when he catches glimpses of the anger brimming underneath, threatening to spill over, to boil over, and yet so perfectly contained, controlled.

They say the children of abusers cannot comprehend why their parents dislike them. That it is natural for them to blame themselves, see flaws in their own performance as offspring, and try to earn the love of their caregivers with caution and compromise.
But Moonjo understood why his father hated him, and he did not care.(In which Moonjo wants to love and be loved, but he never quite learned how.)
